Plaffeien will soon play host to a folklore pageant with the 27th French-speaking Yodellers Festival from 8 to 10 June 2012!
After Naters in 2009, the friendly village of Plaffeien, “capital” of the region of Haute Singine, will be hosting the next French-speaking Yodellers Festival from 8 to 10 June 2012.
Every three years, this huge fête brings together yodellers, flag throwers and Alpen horn players who come to show off their talents in a fantastic competition.
It’s a unique opportunity over three days for the entire population to enjoy a festival of traditional, colourful costumes and tuneful melodies. It’s the occasion, too, for a large fête, organised in a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Lots of enthusiastic and committed people have already been working for months on preparations for this festival.
The bilingual canton of Fribourg, the district of Singine, the commune of Plaffeien and in particular the “Alphüttli” yodelling club which organises the event are therefore proud to take this opportunity to build new bridges, artistic on this occasion, between our country’s cultures and languages.
